Their new intermediate/advanced class in fine-tuning technique and new choreography each week is from 3pm-4pm on Sundays.

PARKING UPDATE AT THE CHEVY CHASE BALLROOM:
(1) 14 spaces are available at the East end of the Bank Of America parking lot during non-banking hours
(2) 10 spaces directly under the ballroom after 9pm when Paul's Liquor closes
(3) 12 spaces across the street at the BB&T Bank also during non-banking hours (two of which are for handicapped parking).
(4) Friendship Heights red line Metro is three minutes away at the Jennifer St exit
(5) the 30 line Metro bus stops directly across the street into the wee hours to Georgetown and all the way through downtown to Capitol Hill.
(6) Plenty of residential parking (2 hours during daytimes) also available along Harrison St and on the next block East along 42nd St at Harrison St NW behind Fox 5 News.

$15 (or use of 10-class dance card) for both the 7:00PM - 8PM class with dancing until 11PM, $7 admission for Milonga and dancing only from 8:00PM - 11PM or free dancing for anyone taking any earlier Sunday class of any style. Night OUT at the Nationals

This year’s Night OUT takes place on Tuesday, June 22 when the Washington Nationals go to bat against the Kansas City Royals at Nationals Stadium. Game time is 7:05pm. The Night OUT is a fun opportunity for the GLBT community to spend time together enjoying the great American past-time!

The Night OUT at the Nationals is Presented by Team DC: Washington's Gay Sports Connection. 2010 Sponsors include: Nellie's Sports Bar, Miller Lite Beer, www.MisterMeetMister.com and the Washington Blade.

The Night OUT has grown from 1,000 attendees in 2005 to close to 2,500 fans in 2009. For our fifth year, Team DC hopes to set the bar higher. We want to see 3,000 members of our community fill the seats of Nationals Stadium to cheer on the home team!

Gay Men’s Chorus to Sing National Anthem
The Washington Nationals have invited the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington to sing the National Anthem prior to the start of the game. This is a very special occasion and we encourage everyone to be inside the stadium absolutely no later than 6:30pm to make sure that they hear our friends in the Chorus belt it out for the home team.

Ticket Pricing and Seating
Team DC has negotiated the lowest possible ticket prices for our community to enjoy a great night of baseball together and the Nationals have kept this year’s ticket prices the same as last year’s. This year, we’ll again fill one continuous Night OUT seating section that will allow us all to sit together to enjoy the game.

This year’s Night OUT will again take over the Scoreboard Pavillion, sections 237-243. The single seat price for this section is $22.00, but for the Night OUT, the cost for the ticket will be $15.00 – a substantial savings. We’ll be located just beneath the scoreboard, allowing for great visibility of our group when everyone looks at the scoreboard. It’s also within close proximity to the outfield beer garden and food vendors, which proved to be a very popular spot last year for many Night OUT attendees. The seating section continues into the Right Field Mezzanine, sections 231-235. Tickets in this section are normally $30, but have been discounted to $23 for the Night OUT.

David Hall, decorated Air Force Sergeant and plaintiff in "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" threw the first pitch during Night OUT at the Nationals on Monday, July 20th, 2009!
Thanks to those who joined Team DC us for the 2009 Night Out at the Nationals where David Hall, a decorated Air Force Sergeant and plaintiff in SLDN's constitutional challenge to the military's anti-gay law, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," threw out the First Pitch.

This exciting moment, included the National Anthem by the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington at 6:40 PM. Game time: 7:05 PM at Nationals Park (Nationals vs. NY Mets).

We sold over 1,700 tickets sold for the Night OUT at the Nationals game on Monday, July 20 so once again broke our 2,000 ticket mark from last year to 2,100 (the highest Night OUT LGBT attendance to date ever reported in the US. What a great way to express to the Gay Games 2014 Site Selection Committee our committment to LGBT sports in DC!).

Plus there will be competition events for ALL levels, from newcomers (yourself maybe?...) right through those who are highly advanced. So start training now....you could be in one of the top 2 levels by 2014!

********************************** David Hall's bio ***************************

David Hall joined SLDN in 2006 and currently serves as the organization's Major Gift Officer and Information Systems Manager. Prior to joining SLDN, David worked with the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) in Anchorage, Alaska.

David is also a former U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant. He joined the Air Force on March 6, 1996, following in the footsteps of his father and step-father, who each served over 20 years in the Air Force.

After basic training, Hall graduated from tech school with the second-highest score in his class and was assigned to the 27th Fighter Squadron at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia.

At Langley, Hall was one of the top airmen in his flight. He worked as a weapons loader, winning several loading competitions and the Airman of the Quarter award. While based at Langley, Hall did a three-month assignment in Saudi Arabia, and was handpicked to go to Kuwait to help fix aircraft.

After receiving a strong recommendation from his active duty commander, Hall was honorably discharged as an enlisted member from the Air Force in August 2001 following his acceptance to the Air Force ROTC in May 2001. At that time, Hall had served five years and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5) with an Aircraft Armament Systems specialty.

During his active duty service, Hall received numerous awards including, the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Air Force Training Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Ward, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.

In March 2002, Hall received a coveted slot to train to be a pilot—an honor given to approximately 500 cadets nationwide each year. At the time Hall received this honor, he had the highest ranking of all the Air Force ROTC juniors in his detachment. In recognition of his talent and dedication, Hall was named a Cadet Captain and flight commander, soon advancing to the position of Operations Officer, Cadet Major, another leadership position.

Following his discharge under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," Hall became a plaintiff in SLDN's constitutional challenge to the military's anti-gay law.

For who: Our classes and social dance events are for everyone of all races, religions, ages, genders, and orientations of affection. Early evening happy hour "Country & Latin Night ... at Remington's on Capital Hill".
A fundraiser at Remington's on Capital Hill right after work to benefit the legal fees of Equality Maryland for trans-inclusive legislation. Join us for early 7pm-9pm mini-dance classes and practice in Salsa & Rueda, Cha Cha, Rumba, 2-step and other social Latin & country dances (we may even learn a segment of "Michael Jackson's Thriller" by request. This is not a watered-down "for-white-guys-who-can't-dance" version, but rather the original Michael Jackson's Thriller routine directly from the ahead-of-it's-time 1982 video. Visit www.MichaelJacksonsThriller.com), followed later in the evening by country & Latin mini-dance contests (winners chosen by audience applause, so this is the time to invite your loudest and most obnoxious friends, neighbors and family members to cheer for you!...), performances, raffles & more. Mini-classes will be available for newcomers from 7-9pm on specific Fridays in Salsa & Rueda plus other Latin dances and 2-Step, followed by dancing and practice when the club opens at 9pm. Donation: $20.00 or whatever one feels they can afford to participate (100% of which goes to Equality Maryland. Consequently checks for the complete amount may be made directly to Equality Maryland). We'll also hold amateur newcomer "So You Think You Can Dance DC", "Dancing with the DC Stars" and "Dancing With The AC/DC Stars" for same-gender couples in both Latin & C/W dances during the evening; open to anyone who attends the earlier classes and wishes to participate (winners chosen by audience applause) plus lottery give-aways, door prizes and other incentives to get people to stay longer and dance, all of which which will help ensure that this is a productive event for the club and ensure future such fundraising events in the future.
