Classes for those who are preparing to compete in the International Ballroom, Latin and/or the Country/Western divisions of
Gay Games®,
Chicago, 2006
from July 15th to July 22nd...
and/or in the
1st World OUTgames,
Montreal, 2006
from July 31st to August 4th
Absolutely "ANYONE" can be prepared to compete in at least
the Newcomer and Beginner levels and possibly even the Intermediate levels
by 2006. Don't let the opportunity pass you by of attending and/or participating
in two of the most exciting LGBT dance events ever to take place within such
a short time and distance from each other. The important thing is that you
begin training now so you'll feel comfortable dancing literally all dance
styles with people from all across the North American continant and around
the world by July & August of 2006.
Any classes and private coaching that one takes will be good preparation for the above competitions, but the classes mentioned below will either specifically include the International Ballroom & Latin and Country/Western dances that will be danced during these two world-class events in 2006, or they're classes which are highly preparatory for taking the beginner level classes in those dances in the near future. Literally ANYONE who starts to train now can be prepared for at least the beginner level competitions and many will be prepared for the intermediate levels by 2006.

Gay DanceSPORT Saturday mornings & early afternoons
New and more advanced LGBT Country/Western Two Step & Waltz, plus Latin and Ballroom & Swing classes in DC on Saturday mornings and early afternoons starting March 12. Geared toward more advanced beginner & intermediate dancers going to Gay Games, Chicago, 2006 & the 1st World OutGames, Montreal, 2006, these classes are both for those competing in any of the 3 dance styles that will be offered for the first time in 2006 or merely for social dancing as spectators. As a spectator you'll definitely want to dance all 3 styles with the many other dancers from around the world during the many social events that are sure to be scheduled in Chicago and Montreal. Absolutely no partner or previous dance experience necessary to attend. Two levels of teachers will be made available at the same time as the level of dancing progresses. Also, one need not necessarily be planning to attend in 2006 to participate in these classes.

10:30am Two Step and/or Country Waltz (1/2 hour of a more advanced pattern in
each, if requested)
11:30am Beginner Cha Cha
12:30pm Social Ballroom & Swing (1/2 hour of technique and turn-patterns
in each)
Cost: $10.00 for the first class, $6.00 second class, $4.00 3rd class. Your
first class taught by Terry at the Chevy Chase Ballroom, however is FREE (download

“Dance Team DC” is now forming for those interested in attending Gay Games, Chicago, 2006 or World OutGames, Montreal, 2006 either as competitors OR as a spectators.
No previous dance experience is necessary,
so don’t hesitate. Most of those competing will be in the beginner levels
and will not be competing against the more advanced dancers. The objective is
to encourage participation, regardless of your level. Contact Ralph Bradley

Fund-raising dance events will be organized over the next 16 months to help
cover expenses for those who participate (both as competitors and spectators)
and may also include joint fund-raisers with the DC Council of Sport's "Team
DC", as well as joint events with other individual teams that will be attending
these two unprecedented North American sports events.
As "Dance Party Animals", Dance Team DC is well-prepared to help organize
and conduct such fund-raising events so everyone will ultimately benefit from
the joint participation with DC's numerous other sports teams.
There are at least 7 dance couples already planning to attend plus others looking
for partners. Most are BEGINNERS, so JOIN US! The goal is a minimum of AT LEAST
20 COUPLES by 2006! If you’re looking for a partner, don’t hesitate

"Terry & Abdul's Sunday Salsa &
Latin Social Dance Party" (This event as part of the Sunday Salsa Social and is included in the $12.00 admission fee. Any of the International dance music may be included by request) We dance to more than just Salsa on Sundays, including the other Latin dances, West Coast Swing, Hustle and even Tango and Ballroom by request. ($12.00 for the complete event, including both of the 6:00pm and 6:45pm classes, plus dancing after 7:30pm. $8.00 students with full-time ID; $5.00 for the dance and practice only after 7:30 pm, or FREE if you attend the Hustle and West Coast Swing classes. Plenty of snacks and refreshments will be provided) Please note that though our Sunday evening classes are on 2, many people come to the party and dance on 1, if that's what they're comfortable with. the 1st World OUTgames, Montreal will both be offering Country/Western
competions in 2006, along with competitions in Ballroom, Latin and Swing
(Including East Coast Swing in the Country/Western division and Jive

for at least the Newcomer, Beginner and possibly even the Intermediate
level of one or more divisions by 2006. The time to start preparing

If you have the opportunity to take any of his Bronze, Silver or Gold level International Ballroom or Latin classes on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings, I highly recommend it. I have taken every class of his from beginner on up whenever time permits and after 10 years am still doing so and continuing to learn new material in all 3 levels. His level of knowledge in these dances is unlimited and since he will not be teaching forever, now is a tremendous opportunity to coach with one of the absolute best in the industry. Drop-in fee: $12.00 per class
or $110.00 for a 10-class dance card good toward any of the Chevy
