Gay DanceSPORT Saturday mornings & early afternoons
New and more advanced LGBT Country/Western Two Step & Waltz, plus Latin and Ballroom & Swing classes in DC on Saturday mornings and early afternoons starting March 12. Geared toward more advanced beginner & intermediate dancers going to Gay Games, Chicago, 2006 & the 1st World OutGames, Montreal, 2006, these classes are both for those competing in any of the 3 dance styles that will be offered for the first time in 2006 or merely for social dancing as spectators. As a spectator you'll definitely want to dance all 3 styles with the many other dancers from around the world during the many social events that are sure to be scheduled in Chicago and Montreal. Absolutely no partner or previous dance experience necessary to attend. Two levels of teachers will be made available at the same time as the level of dancing progresses. Also, one need not necessarily be planning to attend in 2006 to participate in these classes.
Schedule:
10:30am Two Step and/or Country Waltz (1/2 hour of a more advanced pattern
in each, if requested)
11:30am Beginner Cha Cha
12:30pm Social Ballroom & Swing (1/2 hour of technique and turn-patterns
in each)
Cost: $10.00 for the first class, $6.00 second class, $4.00 3rd class. Your
first class taught by Terry at the Chevy Chase Ballroom, however is FREE (download
the "1st-class-is-free pass" at GayDanceSPORT.com), which does not
exclude those having attended any previous dance "events", such

“Dance Team DC” is now forming for those interested in attending Gay Games, Chicago, 2006 or World OutGames, Montreal, 2006 either as competitors OR as a spectators.
No previous dance experience is
necessary, so don’t hesitate. Most of those competing will be in the
beginner levels and will not be competing against the more advanced dancers.
The objective is to encourage participation, regardless of your level. Contact
Ralph Bradley at EarlyRide@msn.com if interested in possibly attending.
Fund-raising dance events will be organized over the next 16 months to help
cover expenses for those who participate (both as competitors and spectators)
and may also include joint fund-raisers with the DC Council of Sport's "Team
DC", as well as joint events with other individual teams that will be
attending these two unprecedented North American sports events.
As "Dance Party Animals", Dance Team DC is well-prepared to help
organize and conduct such fund-raising events so everyone will ultimately
benefit from the joint participation with DC's numerous other sports teams.
There are at least 7 dance couples already planning to attend plus others
looking for partners. Most are BEGINNERS, so JOIN US! The goal is a minimum
of AT LEAST 20 COUPLES by 2006! If you’re looking for a partner, don’t

This will be 2 of THEE most incredible LGBT dance events on our North American
Continent EVER!. Consequently you won’t want to miss them or miss being

Latin & Swing dances between now and July, 2006; from Remington's to weekly
Capital Country classes and events to the Chevy Chase Ballroom in DC, plus

This class will consist of one Bronze International Ballroom dances every other monthto precede Ron Bennett's Full Bronze International Ballroom class during the following 2-month session on Tuesday evenings at 9:00pm No previous beginner (Bronze) experience is necessary
in either dance. We will cover the first 1/3 to 1/2 of the Bronze syllabus
in each of the two dances. No partner necessary and one may drop-in
at any time during the series. Each week will include extensive review
so that everyone is actually dancing the material by the time the class

The Chevy Chase Ballroom Learn the basics of 3 different dance styles for your wedding in Ballroom (including Waltz or Foxtrot), Latin (Salsa or Rumba; the slowest of the Latin dances and often referred to as "The Dance of Love") and Swing (East Coast Swing or Lindy Hop). Also learn some tips on how to prepare for a magnificent "HONOR DANCE" performance!! Bring your "First Dance" music or any that you're considering. We'll determine what dance is most appropriate for them. A great opportunity for wedding party members, as well as parents, family members and friends of the bride and groom to prepare together for this important event. Beginner "and" intermediate drop-in West Coast Swing. Two levels taught at one time, so there's a class level for anyone who attends. This class includes two levels of West Coast Swing with two teachers at once teaching a beginner and intermediate class in the same studio, so anyone may drop in at any time. Those who feel they've mastered the basics may then move on to level two as they feel ready. Each week something different will be taught in the intermediate class, so drop-ins are always welcome and there will always be new material for both levels. This class is then followed by Salsa, Hustle and West Coast Swing dancing and practice for those who care to in studio B from 5:00pm to 7:30pm and will also be carried over to include some Hustle and West Coast dancing during the Sunday Salsa & Latin Social dance party, starting at 7:30pm in studio A. Late Sunday afternoon/early evening $10.00 per person per class; $9.00 per class for full-time college students with ID; $90.00/10-class Dance Card and $70.00 student 10-class card. For those taking both the Hustle and West Coast Swing classes with Terry and Frank, the second class is only $7.00. By attending 2 or more of the Sunday classes, the Salsa, Hustle and West Coast Swing practice and open dancing (which will start officially at 5:00pm in studio "B", as long is music is kept low during the class) is free.
