The event will include early 7:00pm-9:00pm mini-dance classes and practice right after work in Salsa & Rueda, Cha Cha, Rumba, two step and numerous other social Latin & country dances, followed later in the evening by country & Latin mini-dance contests (winners chosen by audience applause, so this is the time to invite your loudest and most obnoxious friends, neighbors and family members), performances, raffles & more. Check back for details as they become available at www.LambdaDanceSportDC.org.
The owner of Remington's has given a tentative green light to the the possibility of a future "Country & Latin Night at Remington's" fund-raiser on July 11th and more for the legal fees for the trans-inclusive legislation in Maryland. If we hold mini-classes from 7-9pm on certain Fridays in Salsa, Two Step, Foxtrot and Swing, Rumba, etc, inluding dancing and practice, we can charge a nominal donation for those who will participate and be finished by the time the club opens at 9. After which we'll plan a "Dancing with the AC/DC Stars" mini-competition later on during the evening for anyone in the earlier classes wishing to participate (winners chosen by audience applause from those who participate in the earlier classes) plus maybe even some lottery give-aways and other incentives to get people to stay longer, which will help ensure that it is productive for the club and so we can hold more of these in the future.

Check back for any changes as they become available.

All I can say about the Miss Adams Morgan Pageant is that it just gets better every year by leaps and bounds. I can remember in years past watching some of the former queens and wondering why they were putting me through this torture. That was NOT the case in 2007...From one of my favorites (and of everyone else's it seems according to the Best of Gay DC) Miss Bambi, to the Fab Sisters and literally everyone in the line-up the entertainment was an experience to behold.

And of course we must congratulate our very own Team DC Chairman and Miss Adams Morgan of 2008, Miss Barbra Anne Bushwhacker...who did an INCREDIBLE and entertaining performance that I would have LOVED to have on video! Nonetheless, congratulations, Brent for an incredible performance well done!....

(1) THANK YOU! TO ALL WHO PERFORMED IN AND ATTENDED THE 2007 "DANCE DC FESTIVAL" AT UNION STATION AND EASTERN MARKET...
I've said it before, but thanks once again to everyone who performed in and attended both of the free "Dance DC Festival" events on September 30th at Union Station and Eastern Market. What an incredible and fun-filed time we all had, in spite of the fact that things got started a bit late at Union Station. Particular appreciation goes out to performers SonMas Salsa Rueda Dance Troupe, Barb Bernstein's Dance In Time Productions for assisting with the teaching during the open mini-classes, The Dancing Kids' Network who did two performances in both Salsa & Cha Cha and both the student
group and senior performance teams of SAOCO DC Rueda and Casino Salsa Dance Group of Washington DC. Also a BIG! thanks to Ebany Banks and Correll Kent of the DC Commission of the Arts and Humanities, in addition to the MANY who attended to watch and participate in our "Dancing with the DC Stars" and "So You Think You Can Dance DC" mini-dance competitions (as well as those who joined us in learning a segment of "Michael Jackson's Thriller"). Your eager and enthusiastic participation and enthusiasm were "THE" secret ingredient in making both of these events memorable to everyone who attended (and eventually to those who routinely visit YouTube! ... we obtained some GREAT footage for YouTube!....). Thanks to each one of you, I believe our original goal ...to make the 2007 'Dance DC Festival '07' the absolute 'BEST' Dance DC Festival ever was attained in flying colors! If you missed it, be sure to make room for it on your calendar next year...and THANKS AGAIN to all who attended, performed and participated in all of the events. We continue to dance at the Chevy Chase Ballroom every Sunday, so join us!....
