Beginner Salsa on 1 and 2 (Mambo) basics ...  Made EASY!!  (You'll learn the basics of both Salsa on 1 and Salsa on 2/Mambo, so you can dance with whoever asks you)

Location: The National Capital YMCA, 1711 R. I. Ave., NW, Washington DC. Located at the intersection of Rhode Island Ave., NW and 17th Street above M.

(Including Salsa in BOTH styles of Salsa, so you can dance with everyone you meet. Includes weekly spotting & spinning drill, Right & Left Underarm Turns, Cross-body Leads, several fun weekly "Shines" and as always, good Latin technique).

followed by Salsa Rueda
two separate classes with separate teachers in each dance.

Ongoing drop-in classes every month. No previous dance experience or partner necessary.
You need not attend every week, as there will be plenty of weekly review.

....also includes weekly practice and dancing during the Sunday Salsa Social starting
at 6:00pm for those who don't take Terry & Abdul's Salsa on 2 (Mambo) classes from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
Anyone attending Salsa on 1 at 3:00pm and/or Salsa Rueda at 4:00pm may also attend Terry & Abdul's Salsa on 2 (Mambo) classes for an additional $6.00 from 6 to 7:30pm. You're already paid for
the dance & practice party at 6:00 in studio B during Terry & Abdul's Mambo classes.

($10.00 per person per class, which includes dancing at 7:30pm; $9.00 per class for full-time college students with ID; $90.00/10-class Dance Card for non-students and $70.00 per 10-class Dance Card for full-time students with full-time ID. For those taking both the Salsa Rueda at 5:00 and Salsa on 2, New York Style classes with Terry and Abdul from 6pm to 7:30, the Salsa on 2 class is only an additional $7.00 instead of $12. You are already paid up to attend the dance party at 7:30pm)

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend any of the classes and dance events, including both singles and couples, as well as same-gender couples and the seeing and hearing impaired. You need not come with a partner...But you NEED to COME!! Absolutely no previous dance experience necessary for most of the classes, unless indicated as a Beginner + or intermediate level class.

An ongoing beginner and intermediate level drop-in salsa class with two levels taught at once by two teachers. No previous dance experience or partner necessary.
Includes 2 teachers teaching both beginner and intermediate levels at the same time

(followed by Salsa and Rueda practice in studio "B" at 6pm until evening)

Terry Chasteen will teach all beginner level dancers and another teacher will teach intermediate/advanced

A drop-in class of Salsa on 1 and Salsa Rueda

($10.00 per person per class; $9.00 per class for full-time college students with ID; $90.00/10-class Dance Card for non-students and $70.00 per class for full-time students with ID. Attend both of Terry's first two Sunday classes before 4:15pm and the second class is only $7.00. Also, by attending 2 or more of any of the Sunday classes, the practice and open dancing with predominantly Salsa, Hustle and West Coast Swing [which will start at 5:00 in studio "B"] is free. Otherwise the practice and general dancing at 5:00 or 7:30pm in studio "A" is $5. per person [You only pay once]. (At 5:00pm the practice sessions are in studio "B" and at 7:30 they move to studio "A" as part of the Sunday Salsa Social dance party.
