AND IN FALLS CHURCH, VA

The Promenade Dancing class will resume once again in Virginia for middle-schoolers in Fairfax County, as well as from other areas once the local kids have had a chance to enroll. It will include 9 sessions between November, 2005 and April of 2006. Two classes of 25 couples will take place on designated Friday evenings at 7:00pm and 8:30pm and will include many of the Ballroom, Latin, Disco/Hustle, Swing and Country/Western dances in addition to ettiquette and other social skills. Boys will wear sport jackets or suits and the girls will wear skirts and white gloves. This has been a highly successful class for two years and enjoyed tremendously by those attending. For anyone interested in enrolling, it is suggested to do so with a dance partner, though no one will remain with the same partner throughout the series. Gay DanceSPORT Saturday mornings & early afternoons

New and more advanced LGBT Country/Western Two Step & Waltz, plus Latin and Ballroom & Swing classes in DC on Saturday mornings and early afternoons. Geared toward more advanced beginner & intermediate dancers going to Gay Games, Chicago, 2006 & the 1st World OutGames, Montreal, 2006, these classes are both for those competing in any of the 3 dance styles that will be offered for the first time in 2006 or merely for social dancing as spectators. As a spectator you'll definitely want to dance all 3 styles with the many other dancers from around the world during the many social events that are sure to be scheduled in Chicago and Montreal. Absolutely no partner or previous dance experience necessary to attend. Two levels of teachers will be made available at the same time as the level of dancing progresses. Also, one need not necessarily be planning to attend in 2006 to participate in these classes.

(Early Friday evening studio space may also be made available soon for training and practice between 6:00pm and 8:30pm, along with early Sunday afternoon classes in Country/Western, International Ballroom & Latin and social ballroom & Swing from 2:30pm to 4:00pm).

10:30am Two Step and/or Country Waltz (1/2 hour of a more advanced pattern in each, if requested)
11:30am Beginner Cha Cha
12:30pm Social Ballroom & Swing (1/2 hour of technique and turn-patterns in each)

“Dance Team DC” is now forming for those interested in attending Gay Games, Chicago, 2006 or World OutGames, Montreal, 2006 either as competitors OR as a spectators.

No previous dance experience is necessary, so don’t hesitate. Most of those competing will be in the beginner levels and will not be competing against the more advanced dancers. Fund-raising dance events will be organized over the next 16 months to help cover expenses for those who participate (both as competitors and spectators) and may also include joint fund-raisers with the DC Council of Sport's "Team DC", as well as joint events with other individual teams that will be attending these two unprecedented North American sports events.
As "Dance Party Animals", Dance Team DC is well-prepared to help organize and conduct such fund-raising events so everyone will ultimately benefit from the joint participation with DC's numerous other sports teams.

Including both beginner & intermediate Salsa classes at the same time taught by Terry Chasteen and a second teacher from 6:00pm to 7:30pm plus Salsa & Latin dancing starting at 7:30pm in studio A. Those taking any of the earlier Sunday classes are paid up for the the 7:30pm dance party, but may also take any second class for only an additional $6.00 and any 3rd or 4th Sunday class for an additional $5.00 each)

5. The
7:30pm to 10:30pm, including dancing to the BEST Salsa & Latin dance music, plus occasional performances by local Salsa and Salsa Rueda dance troops from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. Those taking Salsa on 1, Salsa Rueda and any of the earlier Sunday classes are paid up for the the 7:30pm dance party, but may also take beginner and/or intermediate Salsa on 2 classes from 6-7:30pm for only an additional $6.00 instead of the regular $12.00)

D. Monday classes at the YMCA, National Capital
Two 7-week sessions at 7:30pm and 8:15pm at the YMCA, National Capital, 17th & R. I. Ave., NW. Any classes missed after late enrollment can be easily made up at the Chevy Chase Ballroom. Call 202-862-YMCA (or 202-862-9649 or 9670) to enroll by credit card. New enrollments accepted for several weeks after the session has begun. Any classes missed throughout the session may be made up during Terry's numerous Chevy Chase Ballroom beginner classes and/or Salsa dance events, so don't hesitate just because the session may have already started.

1. 7:30pm - 8:15pm
Beginner Salsa basics and drill on BOTH 1 & 2, plus Salsa Rueda so you can dance with ANYONE who asks you.
2. 8:15pm - 9:00pm
Beginner Black-tie and Wedding Dances, including Social Ballroom, Latin & Swing

E. Tuesday classes at the Chevy Chase Ballroom

1. 6:30pm Beginner and intermediate Salsa on 1 (4 week drop-in session taught by Terry Chasteen & Co. $10.00 first class or $15.00 both 6:30pm and 7:15pm classes)
2 . 7:15pm Beginner Wedding dances, including social Ballroom, Latin & Swing (4 week drop-in session taught by Terry Chasteen & Co. $10.00 first class or $15.00 both 6:30pm and 7:15pm classes)
3. 8:00pm Beginner (Bronze) International Latin (8 week session taught by Ron Bennett)
