The admission is "FREE!!" or you may market it as a fundraiser outing for those from the web site or email list following of your favorite charity or non-profit and YOU KEEP the acquired funds! Just have one of your members available at the event to receive your member donations when they arrive or have people send admission donations to you ahead of time with 100% of checks made out to that organization.

For who: For everyone of all races, religions, ages, genders, and orientations of affection, including singles, couples, same-gender couples and the seeing and hearing impaired. Leave the labels outside the door and get "Out on the Dance Floor!"

And not to worry if you don't have any previous dance experience or don't have a dance partner. Amost everyone attending will be brand new beginners in one dance or another and we'll be switching partners while those who are already able to dance can do so at the same time. Included in the plans are proposed mini-classes in all of the social dance styles for newcomers (including Ballroom, Social Latin, Brazilian Samba, Disco/Hustle, Salsa & Rueda, Swing, C/W Two Step, Argentine Tango and more...), plus demonstrations and mini-dance competitions (or maybe even a segment of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" routine for those who DARE to try it. Visit www.MichaelJacksonsThriller.com). By request, we might also learn and dance some of the Hip Hop moves to Nelly's "Hot In Here" from Terry's movie debut in Chris Rock's "Head Of State" . And LAST but certainly NOT LEAST, if time permits we'll hold the legendary Washington DC "Out On The Dance Floor Robo-Cha Cha DanceSport Championhips", destined to become a renowned One-of-it's-Kind annual event.
You won't need any previous dance experience or a dance partner. A major portion of attendees will be brand new beginners and we'll be switching partners during mini-classes while those who are already dancing can do so at the same time.

Miniature "Dancing with the DC Stars" dance contests (www.DancingWithTheDCStars.com) in certain dances will also take place following some of the classes throughout the evening in social Ballroom Foxtrot, Swing, Country Two Step, Disco/Hustle and Salsa, which are open to anyone. Bring a partner or find one in class and anyone can enter in one or all of the contests, including same-gender couples, wheelchair dancers and those who are seeing and hearing impaired. All are welcome and encouraged. The mini-classes and "Dancing with the DC Stars" mini-dance contests will take place througout the event for anyone who wants to participate. Winners will be chosen by audience applause (so bring your loudest and most obnoxious friends and family members to be on your cheering squad). We'll have plenty of dance teachers and assistants available to help anyone with questions about their dancing both during and between instruction.

Also provided will be refreshments of cheese trays and crudite' to keep up the energy level with soft drinks or bottled water available for purchase. Space in the lower level with the food will be available for information and awareness opportunities for numerous non-profits and charitable organizations, plus a silent auction for PFLAG DC and a sponsorship and donation program, 100% of which will benefit the donor's chosen recipient or selected charitable recipients which are being considered such as PFLAG DC (www.pflagdc.org), Katie Couric's National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (www.eifoundation.org/national/nccra/splash/ ), Mary Tyler Moore's Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF) (www.jdrf.org/ ), Oprah's Angel Network (www.OprahsAngelNetwork.org/oan/Home), The Elton John AIDS Foundation (www.ejaf.org), the favorite charity of "That Girl" Marlo Thomas - St Jude's Children Research Hospital (www.StJude.org), Children's Hospital of Washington DC (www.dcchildrens.com), The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF) (www.MichaelJFox.org), Whitman-Walker Clinic (www.wwc.org), the Mautner Project for Lesbians with Cancer (www.mautnerproject.org), The Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (www.Komen.org), the World Children's Fund (www.WorldChildrensFund.org) and/or any other charitable organization preferred by each individual donor or corporate sponsor in the name of the "Out on The Dance Floor Charity Ball". If you have a favorite 501c3 organization that isn't included in our list, we would be happy to consider it. After all, one of the goals of the "Out on The Dance Floor Charity Ball" is to create awareness of the many charitable organizations working for the benefit of the millions who are not as fortunate as most of us and in need of assistance, in addition to letting people know how they can assist in helping to support them financially and otherwise. There will be space available on site for our selected non-profit and charitable organizations to display promotional materials and information about their goals and efforts.

Since every dime of the donated funds will go directly to the
selected charity(s), checks may be made directly to each chosen foundation. If you would like to make a silent auction donation or become an individual or a corporate sponsor...or just as importantly, to volunteer your time before and/or during the event, contact TerryChasteen@yahoo.com.

Lastly and most importantly we will be providing an opportunity for everyone in the Washington Metropolitan area to experience more fun, more entertainment, more music and more dancing in one night than one could possibly imagine...and THAT is a PROMISE!! Singles, couples, same-gender couples and the seeing and hearing impaired and disabled wheelchair dancers are all welcome welcome. Limited ASL will be available and both blind, deaf and weelchair dancers are encouraged to attend and participate. Our hope is to have performances available by "Show Time" in the areas of blind, deaf and wheelchair dancers alike. Either way, we guarantee that all of those attending will all have as much fun as those who see and hear and are able-bodied.

Dress will be "Dress-to-Impress Casual" though semi-formal or formal are always recommended and encouraged consisting of (1) suit or jacket and tie (2) black tie or (3) white tie and tails, plus formal gown or formal drag (no campy worn out drag costumes, please. We want everyone to look fabulous for the media who will be attending...).

Also not to worry if you're not already dancing or don't have a dance partner. Due to the large number of dance styles offered, almost everyone attending will be beginners in one dance style or another and a major portion of attendees will be brand new beginners in all of them. We'll be switching partners througout the night during the mini-classes and worksops, plus we'll have plenty of dance teachers and experienced assistants available to help those with questions about their dancing both during instruction and general dancing.

Invite "ALL" of your friends and family members to join us and encourage everyone to come together to enjoy and celebrate these incredible gifts of music and dance and to participate from all aspects of the Metropolitan Washington community.

With room for only about 300 guests maximum to attend, plan to make your reservations early at TerryChasteen@yahoo.com. This event is open to any suggestions and of course in volunteers. However we can GUARANTEE that everyone attending of all ages and from all walks of life will enjoy MORE FUN, MORE ENTERTAINMENT, MORE MUSIC and MORE DANCING in one night than one can possibly imagine. The "Out on The Dance Floor Charity Ball" will be unlike anything ever before experienced in the shadow of our Nation's Capitol. It's a first-time dance event that you definitely won't want to miss.

Check back regularly at
www.OUTonTheDanceFloor.org for updated information as it becomes available. Again we all really need to make more of an effort to encourage more Washingtonians from all walks of life to start socializing more frequently with each other by dancing "Out On The Dance Floor!!"

All age groups are welcome and encouraged from kids to senior citizens and oh and did I mention the admission? The admission is "FREE!!"... though any donations and corporate sponsorships to any of our (or your) chosen charities will definitely be appreciated. We encourage everyone, including the kids, to contact their friends, teachers, family members and/or business associates to obtain pledges to their chosen charitable organizations, though that is definitely not a requirement to attend. Those who care to may download pledge forms at www.pleasedancewithme.com/outonthedancefloorballpledgeform.htm and turn them in with checks or funds. 100% of any donations, silent auction sales and corporate or individual sponsorships will go directly to the charitable foundations, so checks that are turned in may be made out directly to the recieving 501c3 charity(s) or to the Westminster Foundation to be distributed equally among our selected 501c3 charities. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Join the efforts of some of our favorite Red Carpet icons of both today and years past along with the millions of others worldwide who unselfishly spend a major portion of their time every year helping to support their favorite non-profits to benefit others.

We hope you'll make plans well in advance to join us "Out On The Dance Floor"
