"Red Hot Ballroom" Ballroom, Latin, Disco/Hustle and Swing classes have begun for 5th graders and up on Saturday mornings at 10:30am and at 5:00pm on Wednesday evenings at 12:30pm on Sundays starting on January 8th at the Chevy Chase Ballroom (classes are drop-in, so late enrollment or missing on occasion is not a problem). Those interested in any class may email TerryChasteen@hotmail.com. Pre-registration is required at the first class or online at www.PleaseDanceWithMe.com/kids.htm. Since a different dance will be taught each week, enrollment may take place after the sessions have begun .

"Red Hot Ballroom" may begin as an after school activity at one of the close-in DC or Md middle schools on Mondays from either 3:30 or 4:30pm to 5:00pm or 6:00pm. Starting date and exact location to-be-announced. Also on Sundays starting on January 8th, 2006 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm (warm-up from 12:30 to 1:00 and classes begin at 1:00pm). AND IN FALLS CHURCH, VA

The Promenade Dancing class will resume once again in Virginia for middle-schoolers in Fairfax County, as well as from other areas once the local kids have had a chance to enroll. It will include 7 sessions between January, 2006 and April of 2006. Two classes of 25 couples each will take place on designated Friday evenings at 7:00pm and 8:30pm and will include many of the Ballroom, Latin, Disco/Hustle, Swing and Country/Western dances in addition to ettiquette and other social skills. Boys will wear sport jackets or suits and the girls will wear skirts and white gloves. This has been a highly successful class for two years and enjoyed tremendously by those attending. For anyone interested in enrolling, it is suggested to do so with a dance partner, though no one will remain with the same partner throughout the series. Partners will change routinely each week, so it's only necessary to have an equal number of boys and girls.

(A). "Red Hot Ballroom" for middle-schoolers. (enrollment required w/ a 10-class dance card) Red Hot Ballroom includes Ballroom, Latin & Swing classes for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th graders. Pre-registration required, which includes purchase of a 10-class dance card good for any Red Hot Ballroom or adult classes at the Chevy Chase Ballroom.

(B). Beginner to Intermediate Bachata and Cumbia taught by Maria Del Mar to 11:30am. Drop-In class including Bachata and/or Cumbia by request (A different beginner or intermediate level [or both with 2 teachers] Latin dance may be taught each week)

(C) 11:30am - 12:30pm Intermediate Salsa & Rueda taught by Mein.

2. 11:30am - 12:30pm
(A) Beginner to intermediate Salsa & Rueda (depending on the elvel of those attending) taught by Mein.


(B) Dance-At-Your-Wedding Workshops 11:30am to 12:30pm every Saturday.
Includes the basics for Ballroom, Swing & Social Latin or Hustle dance styles plus how to prepare for a magnificent and fun "Honor Dance" every month. Beginner "Dance-at-Your-Wedding Workshops" in social Ballroom & Black-tie and Wedding dances taught by Terry Chasteen.

(C) Beginner to Beginner + Latin club dances including beginner (Bronze) International Latin to 12:30pm. Drop-In class including International Rumba, Cha Cha, Samba and Paso Doble by request (A different beginner or intermediate level [or both with 2 teachers] Latin dance may be taught each week)

3. 12 noon - 1:00pm
Beginner through eventually advanced Disco/Hustle taught by Terry Chasteen at part of the "Dance-at-Your-Wedding Workshop" by request.


4. 12:30pm - 1:30pm
(A). Beginner to intermediate Latin body and hand & arm styling taught by Maria Del Mar.

(B). Beginner to intermediate (over time) West Coast Swing and/or ...

(C). Beginner to intermediate (over time) C/W two step taught by Terry and Mein at the same time.


5. 7:00pm to 11:30pm Dance-&-Learn Parties.

Saturday evening "Dance-&-Learn Parties" with mini-classes usually (but not only) on the 4th Saturday of each month

2. 1:00pm to 2:00pm "Red Hot Ballroom" for middle-schoolers plus any parents who wish to also participate (10-class dance card enrollment required). Red Hot Ballroom includes Ballroom, Latin & Swing classes for 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th graders. Pre-registration required.

3. 2:00pm - 3:00pm
A. Drop-in beginner Social Wedding dances (social Ballroom, Tango, Latin & Swing) (all Sunday classes also include dancing and practice at the Sunday Salsa & Rueda Social from 7:30pm to 10:30pm)

B. Beginner to intermediate level class in all of the International and social Latin dances.
(Pre-registration required by enough to people to bring in a second teacher for strictly Latin each week)

4. 3:00pm to 4:00pm
A. Intermediate to advanced Viennese Waltz formation class (formation performance is not required)

B. Beginner Viennese Waltz enrollment class (Pre-registration required)

A. Beginner to advanced Salsa on 1 (2 or 3 Salsa teachers teaching beginner & intermediate to advanced at the same time, if required. Beginners taught by Terry Chasteen, which can then move on to intermediate and advanced taught by Marc Alberstadt and Danielle Areco, to include "Ladies Styling")
B. Beginner and/or intermediate Salsa on 2, New York Style (Mambo). Pre-registration is required of enough people to bring in a Mambo teacher. Email TerryChasteen@hotmail.com if interested either in enrollment or in teaching the class.

4. 5:00pm - 6:15pm
Drop-in Beginner AND Intermediate Salsa Rueda taught by Terry Chasteen (beginner) and Ernesto Reyes (Intermediate) in studio B
(Two teachers at once teaching Beginner and intermediate [5:00pm] and advanced [6:15pm] Salsa Rueda. Followed by Salsa and Rueda dancing and practice at 7:30pm. Discounts available for those attending more than 1 Sunday class. No previous Rueda experienced required, however the 4:00pm Salsa class is highly recommended for those who have never had any Salsa.

4. 6:00pm - 7:15pm
Drop-in Advanced intermediate to full Advanced Salsa Rueda taught by Ernesto Reyes in studio B (level being taught depends on the experience of those attending the 6pm class).

5. 6:00pm - 7:30pm Beginner/intermediate Argentine Tango taught by Arnaud Lucas in studio A


5. 7:30pm - 10:30pm The including classes and dancing
The dancing will include the "BEST" Salsa, Salsa Rueda, Argentine Tango and Latin dance music available anywhere. Also included may be scheduled performances by local Salsa and Salsa Rueda dance troops from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. Anyone who takes Salsa on 1, Salsa Rueda, the social Latin dances, Argentine Tango plus the beginner Ballroom and Swing wedding dances on Sunday afternoon & evening are automatically paid up for the the 7:30pm dance party. The first class is $12.00 [$10.00 when bringing in an email or website notice of the event from any source], the second class is only an additional $6.00, the third $5.00 and the 4th class is $5. [$28.00 total to dance and party ALL DAY!] from 2:00pm to 10:30pm.

D. Monday classes at the YMCA, National Capitol
Two 7-week sessions begin on April 24th at 7:30pm and 8:15pm at the YMCA, National Capital, 17th & R. I. Ave., NW. Any classes missed after late enrollment can be easily made up at the Chevy Chase Ballroom. Call 202-862-YMCA (or 202-862-9649 or 9670) to enroll by credit card. New enrollments accepted for several weeks after the session has begun. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend any of the classes and dance events, including both singles and couples, as well as same-gender couples and the seeing and hearing impaired. You need not come with a partner...But you NEED to COME!! Absolutely no previous dance experience necessary for most of the classes, unless indicated as a Beginner + or intermediate level class)

Usually plenty of free parking available at the adjacent Bank of America at Harrison and Wisconsin during non-banking hours).

6:30pm - 7:30pm Beginner and intermediate Salsa with Terry & Marc Alberstadt. The first class is free after which 4 week series registration is required for continuity. The second class is only $5.00. 2 classes at once with 2 teachers as required.

 

7:30pm - 8:30pm Beginner + & intermediate Salsa

taught by Terry for the beginners and Marc Alberstadt for the intermediate/advanced

Ballroom, Latin, Disco/Hustle and Swing classes have begun for 5th graders and up on Saturday mornings at 10:30am, on Sundays at 12:30pm and at 5:00pm on Wednesday evenings after school at the Chevy Chase Ballroom . Those interested in enrolling in either class may email TerryChasteen@hotmail.com. Pre-registration is required at the first class or online at www.PleaseDanceWithMe.com/kids.htm. Since a different dance will be taught each week, enrollment may take place after the sessions have begun .

"Red Hot Ballroom" will begin as an after school activity at one of the close-in DC or Md middle schools on Mondays from either 3:30 or 4:30pm to 5:00pm or 6:00pm. AND IN FALLS CHURCH, VA

The Promenade Dancing class will resume once again in Virginia for middle-schoolers in Fairfax County, as well as from other areas once the local kids have had a chance to enroll. It will include 7 sessions between January 6th and April of 2006. Two classes of a maximum of 25 couples will take place on designated Friday evenings at 7:00pm and 8:30pm and will include many of the Ballroom, Latin, Disco/Hustle, Swing and Country/Western dances in addition to ettiquette and other social skills. Boys will wear sport jackets or suits and the girls will wear skirts and white gloves. This has been a highly successful class for two years and enjoyed tremendously by those attending. For anyone interested in enrolling, it is suggested to do so with a dance partner, though no one will remain with the same partner throughout the series. Partners will change routinely each week, so it's only necessary to have an equal number of boys and girls.

This class will include the basics of two Bronze International Latin dances per 2-month session, one of which will precede Ron Bennett's Full Bronze International Latin class during the successive 2-month session on Tuesday evenings at 8:00pm

No previous beginner (Bronze) experience is necessary in any dance. One may drop-in at any time during the series, as each week will include extensive review or will include a new dance.
