"Dance-at-Your-Wedding Workshops" will take place every Sat at 12:30pm, Sun at 1:45pm (MUST RSVP IN ADVANCE ON SUNDAYS TO START THE WEDDING WORKSHOP SEGMENT BEFORE THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED 2:00PM BEGINNER LEVEL BALLROOM CLASS) and Tues at 7:15pm throughout the wedding season of April through August. In addition private coaching is available any day of the week by appointment. Numerous additional and highly affordable drop-in classes in Ballroom, Salsa & the Latin dances, Tango, Swing & more are available during the week and on weekends to perfect the technique and basic in the social dances to save private coaching time and make your private appointments for your first dance more productive. In addition we have weekly and monthly social dance events and practice opportunities (which always have teachers available for your assistance) to learn more patterns and to perfect those that you my have already learned in class or during your private coaching.
In spite of what a lot of the major dance corporations insist, you needn't spend a fortune to put on a "Knock-out" First Dance performance at your wedding. Contact and RSVP at Terry@DanceAtYourWeddingWorkshops.com or TerryChasteen@PleaseDanceWithMe.com.

Give us a few weeks to train you and we'll teach you a
"First Dance" routine that they'll NEVER FORGET!...

Give us a month or more and you'll
"KNOCK THEIR SOCKS OFF"!!!

(Click here to learn the complete process of how to
make an incredible "First Dance" happen)

AT THE CHEVY CHASE BALLROOM ON THE LAST SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH
(EXCEPT IN DECEMBER)
ADDRESS: 5207 Wisconsin Ave., NW, Washington DC

LOCATED ON METRO'S RED LINE AT FRIENDSHIP HEIGHTS

The advantage that I and my associate teachers have above other dance companies being considered for your "First Dance" performance:
I can confidently say that there is not another teacher in all of Metropolitan Washington DC who has the diverse training and experience in literally every type of social dance known to man than I do personally after 35 years of teaching and continually training during that time in every social dance out there. I will at least have the first appointment with each couple, since I cannot possibly teach everyone, myself, during which time we will analyze your music and/or musical possibilities so that I can do the choreography or at least get a head start on it for my associate teachers. If our schedules don't match, I will then be sure that the appropriate associate teacher is well-versed on the choreography, ensuring that you have a "Knock-Out" routine as opposed to the all-too-common Stand and Sway. In this day and age of "Dancing with the Stars", I expect "ALL" of my wedding couples in no uncertain terms to "BE STARS!" during the Honor Dance at their wedding.
My associate teachers are not just people right out of dance teacher training class as in many high priced, high-pressure sales dance companies, but instead teachers with decades of dance training and teaching experience. That includes experience and expertise in all of the Ballroom dances (including all levels from beginner through advanced in both International and American style Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep and Viennese Waltz), all of the Latin dances (Salsa & Rueda, Merengue, Mambo, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble, Flamenco), authentic Argentine Tango, Disco/Hustle, all of the Country/Western dances (including blue grass and clogging for you country dancers), Swing (East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop and Jive) to Hip Hop, (which I've actually danced front-and-center, by the way in the 2003 major motion picture comedy, "Head Of State" by Chris Rock. You can watch it on the movie trailer from now to eternity at www.Moovees.com....) plus jazz, authentic Brazilian Samba and others. (I can even teach you "Michael Jackson's Thriller" to the N'th degree and in the finest detail of each character, which I've taught on numerous occasions during different public events on YouTube and live on TV on the Fox 5 TV. Visit their web site at
or mine at www.MichaelJacksonsThriller.com where I taught the anchors, weather guys, reporters and live audience on Halloween morning, 2007).

MOST IMPORTANTLY:
Regardless of the type of music you choose, where many teachers and companies may be only versed in and concentrate on one or a few of the dances, because of my passion for both music, choreography and social dance of all styles, and because I have continued to train in many of them on an ongoing basis ever since I was an undergrad at Ohio State back in 1969 (yes, 1969, before many of your PARENTS were even born....so listen to your elders!....) where I took my first Ballroom dance class, I can guarantee that I'll come up with fun, easy and very entertaining choreography that anyone can afford. I've been teaching those dances and many more ever since from 1974 to the present.

TO GET STARTED: my suggestion; if you're not sure of where to go for your "Honor Dance" training, bring your music with you to one of my weekly "Dance-at-Your-Wedding Workshops" along with a "First-Class-Is-Free-Pass" from www.PleaseDanceWithMe.com (click here to download and print a "First-Class-Is-Free-Pass" from this site). I will then show you some of the best, most enjoyable and fun ways of choreographing your routine without making it at all too complicated. My goal is and always has been, to make sure that every couple chooses the song to dance to that is really special to them and not just something that they think they can dance to. Because of my extensive experience and dance background, I can gurantee that I will come up with an appropriate dance to literally EVERY song ever written, regardless of how undanceable it seems at first glance. Actually some of those that seem undanceable at first glance often turn out to be the most fun of all, if the teacher has enough experience to create the choreography in the appropriate style of dancing. My goal has always been that this will be one of the most memorable segments of any couple's wedding celebration that I'm involved in and I can say with confidence that when given enough time (and even often when I was NOT given enough time) I have NEVER missed fulfilling that goal.

Learn the basics of several traditional dances, including Ballroom (Waltz or Foxtrot), Latin (Salsa or Rumba-the slowest of the Latin dances, often referred to as "The Dance of Love") and Swing (Jitterbug or East Coast Swing) for your wedding.

Also, bring your "First Dance" music, if you know it and we'll decide what dance is most appropriate. Everyone will learn how to prepare for a magnificant "Honor Dance" performance!!

This monthly workshop is a great opportunity for wedding couples to learn the basics of creating an easy and fun-filled "Honor Dance" routine that your guests will remember for years to come. It's a "must" for every bride and groom. As well it's a great opportunity for parents, family members and friends of the bride and groom to prepare together so they can dance with all of the guests at this important event.

Or...if you're just interested in quickly learning the basics of several dances for social purposes, whether or not you're planning to attend a wedding, this is the perfect one-stop workshop for you, as well.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY DANCE-AT-YOUR-WEDDING WORKSHOPS:
$15.00 PER PERSON OR $25.00 PER COUPLE.

Also, ongoing social black-tie and Wedding dance classes are available for anyone, whether or not in a wedding, to include Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, Disco/Hustle, the social Latin dances and more and will be taught weekly by request of those attending on: (1) Saturdays at 12:30pm, (2) Sundays at 2:00pm and (3) Tuesdays at 7:15pm at the Chevy Chase Ballroom....

PLUS (4) on Mondays from 8:15pm to 9:00pm at the YMCA National Capital (17th & R. I. Ave., NW near the Dupont Circle and Farragut North red line Metro stations).

Print and bring to your first weekend or weekday dance class taught by Terry Chasteen & Associates a "First-Class-Is-Free Pass" when attending your first class at the Chevy Chase Ballroom & DanceSport Center (Does not include Dance-&-Learn Parties and Workshops. You must bring a signed copy of the coupon to be turned in with the class roster to qualify for any of the class and dance party discounts).

(A SPECIAL NOTE: Please, Please, PLEASE! for your own benefit, do not put preparation for your "Honor Dance" off until the last week or two if you want this to be a memorable and fun experience for the both of you. With all of the last minute wedding preparations that will take 100% of your time and attention during the last month, the last thing you want to have to do in addition to everything else is to completely learn and memorize your "First Dance", unless of course that's really low on your list of priorities. To make this a memorable part of this very important ceremony [and once again, it can very well be THE most memorable part of your complete event as people continue to tell me every single week] and to enjoy the whole event to the max, you will want to have plenty of time to finish and practice early so you can really enjoy the experience, instead of having it become a dreaded weight around both of your necks by putting it off until the last minute. It is also highly suggested to jump into the numerous Social Black-tie & Wedding dance classes at www.PleaseDanceWithMe.com/schedule.htm available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays every week to start learning the basics in numerous social dances before focusing on your "First Dance")
